A Note from the Director

Hi everyone, my name is Mikayla O’Neill, the Events Director for the Spring '26 semester at SBIN. I am a third-year International Business & Marketing student with a keen interest in being involved in the sports industry. I moved around quite a bit growing up, so my sports loyalties are all over the place! To highlight a few, I am a HUGE Patriots fan, love the Canucks, enjoy a Celtics game, and am, of course, a Northeastern hockey fanatic. I personally played volleyball and try to both play and watch when I can. With that being said, I am so excited to lead the Events Team this semester! I hope to take the club to the next level alongside my associates by creating amazing, intriguing events that connect our members to the sports industry! Please feel free to reach out to inquire about creating an event with us. The more ideas, the merrier!

Description

The Events Team for the Sports Business & Innovation Network collaborates to bring the club’s concept to life by creating meaningful opportunities for members to connect with the sports industry. We plan and execute a wide range of programming throughout the semester, including professional speaker events, co-op panels, resume and interview workshops, social events, watch parties, intramural games, and hands-on volunteer experiences. Our goal is to build a strong SBIN community while giving students the chance to learn directly from industry professionals, explore different career paths, and grow their network in a fun, supportive environment. Whether members are looking to get involved on campus, gain real-world exposure, or take the next step toward a career in sports, the Events Team helps make those connections happen.
